This is a sprint event using the 2012 RRU sprint map.
Registration from 12.15, starts from 1. Parking and registration in the lower parking lot on the RRU campus.
Starts: Orienteering starts at 1:00pm. Staggered starts (not mass start)
Courses: Two courses, a beginner and an advanced course. Both will be short, the challenge is in the route choice and the map detail. Courses close at 3pm
Bring: a compass and whistle (mandatory). Wear clothing that is suitable for running. Long pants are recommended due to the Salal in the park.
SI: This event will be using Sport-Ident punching. Bring your stick or $2 to rent one
Cost: $8 per map + $2 if you need to rent an SI stick. Membership required. (Free for first-time participants)
Preregistration: To give us an idea of how many maps to print, we’d appreciate it if you could either register for the event on our web site by clicking +REGISTER on the right. We will print maps based on the Start List. Please do register on this website to give us a good idea if you plan to come.
Winning times on the course should be in the region of 20mins or less - but most people should probably expect to take between half and hour to 45 mins.
