UVIC Campus Orienteering
October 4th 2026 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Organizers: Linda Hildebrandt (Event Director), Kerstin Burnett (Course Planner)

SUMMARY & RESULTS
Almost 40 participants attended this event on an absolutely beautiful fall day on the UVIC Campus. We had a good turn out of beginners who subsequently tackled the C-1 Course with good success. Congratulations to the Pendrel Family for taking on the Intermediate Course as part of their new orienteering adventure and taking first place. The Advanced Course proved to be a nice challenge with all the quick direction changes required on the east side of the campus. Finding the optimum route is not as easy as it may seem when you are running fast! Congratulations to our international visitor to the Club, Anna, for another great run! Big thanks to helpers at this event. Marie (Course Setting, Beginner Clinic, Control Pickup) and Kerstin (course planning, setting, running starts) and Anna (control pick-up). And a special thank you to Leigh for tabulating results into WinSplits and setting up our event on Livelox! If you used a GPS to record your run, upload your track!

Interested in seeing what routes others have chosen? Check out Livelox. This program can display our competition maps and allow orienteers to upload their GPS Tracks. This is a very cool way to compare routes with others.
