Organizer: Larry Gagnon (Event Director)

A bit of sun and cloud mixed with 17 deg and some wind made for a good orienteering day. Thank you to all who made the 45 minute trek out from Victoria to run/walk/slog through the stunning East Sooke Park. It was a reasonable turnout for our club at one of our more advanced orienteering areas. Special thanks to Andrea Gagnon for help with registration, Leigh Bailey for map printing, Scott Sheldrake for SI computing skills, and especially Tobi, Happy, Lorne, Sandi, Andrea who did control pickup and saved me a third trip out to the park. Tobi especially not only ran Course 4 in excellent time but went back out to get the furthest and most difficult 6 controls. What a champ! I owe you at least one craft beer for that effort.

PS: one of our club members left a Brunton compass with a translucent limey yellow base and a short black cord lanyard somewhere near the registration table. If you know of its whereabouts please contact me.
