This weekend will focus on forest orienteering technique. Each training session will have a specific aim, clarified by the coaches before, and discussed in groups of similar abilities after.  This camp is intended for adult orienteers who have, at a minimum, some experience with orienteering and are looking at improving their skills.  Participants must already belong to an orienteering club. Sorry - no beginners/ new members.

Thanks to everyone who filled out the  Training Camp Survey, this information will be used to shape the details of the some of the sessions.

Saturday Night Social Details - the Kinsmen Club House at the Juan de Fuca Golf Course (located in Colwood near the Westshore Rec Centre) has been booked for a catered supper. Along with some fine dining you can also enjoy an excellent opportunity to discuss orienteering techniques with some presentations by our very experienced coaches. (cost $20 to cover food and facility rental)

This evening will include Informal talks / discussion on:

  • Map symbols - unique features and simplifcation
  • Orienteering "systems" - control taking, relocating...

Costs: $50 for the 2-day camp or $30 per day, $20 for Saturday Night Social/Presentations

Latest Updates (2 Apr 2013):

We have added a Locations map of all of the training sites that will be used.  An email will be sent out to all registered participants by Thursday 4 Apr to provide more info on where to meet, timings etc.  Also keep checking here for more information or updates to be posted.  If you are coming from out-of-town and still looking for accommodations, one of the local hotels is providing a group discount.  Please see details below.
